It is also a time when changing weather and road conditions require extra attention behind the wheel. As many DACC students continue to build confidence and experience as new drivers, we're sharing some important safety tips to help make every trip a safe one.

Parents: Your Expertise Could Be a Student's Next Opportunity

Are you a healthcare professional, skilled tradesperson, engineer, entrepreneur, first responder, designer, business leader, or industry expert?

Many of our parents have valuable real-world knowledge that aligns directly with DACC programs. By sharing your experience, you can help students explore careers, build professional connections, and better understand the opportunities available after graduation. DACC's partnerships help create meaningful connections between students and employers, strengthening career pathways and workforce readiness.

Fill out this short form and tell us how you'd like to be involved. We'll connect you with the right program and add you to our Business Partner Newsletter for updates on job fairs, special events, and partnership opportunities.

School Spirit Apparel Store

DACC has an online school spirit store where you can purchase your favorite clothing items and accessories and have them delivered directly to your home. Most designs can be customized to include your lab name or our vision to empower, prepare, inspire, and connect all students.

Parents: Get the DACC Experience

Not New, But Worth Review

Academic Hybrid Fridays

On Hybrid Fridays, students will not attend their Academic classes in person. Instead, they will complete assignments online at their own pace. This model encourages students to take ownership of their learning in a flexible, real-world format. This innovative approach supports the development of essential 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, independence, and time management, while also opening the door for expanded work-based learning opportunities.

Here is a comprehensive FAQ about the program.

Closings and Delays

When DACC is delayed or canceled due to weather, you will receive instant alerts through the contact information you provided at registration. Alerts will be sent to you by email, phone call, and text message. If you download the DACC app, you will also receive a push notification on your phone.

In addition, notices will be posted to our website and social media accounts.

When you receive the delay or closure alert, make sure you know what to do by referencing our Delay & Closures page on our website. Many parents bookmark this page for future reference.

Illness Procedure

If a student feels unwell after they have already arrived on campus, we encourage them to visit the clinic, where our healthcare professional will provide care and support. In the event that a student needs to go home, we will personally contact a parent or guardian to arrange this. The student will then be able to leave directly from the clinic as soon as their ride arrives, streamlining the process for everyone.

We kindly ask that students refrain from directly contacting parents to pick them up during school hours. This approach minimizes disruption to classes and helps our teachers maintain an effective learning environment. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this collaborative effort to support our students' health and education

Canvas and PowerSchool

At DACC, we are using Canvas as our Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas is a web-based learning management system that gives instructors, students, and parents access to view and manage online course learning materials.

Additionally, the system empowers instructors, students, and parents to communicate about skill development and learning achievement.

Visit our website for more detailed information about Canvas, including:

  • How to set up an account
  • How students can set up a pairing code for a parent or guardian (get started with instructions on how to set up a pairing code here)
  • What you can and cannot do with Canvas
  • How to download the app

We also use PowerSchool to display student grades and attendance.

While Canvas provides an interactive view of what is currently being assigned and submitted in a given class, PowerSchool publishes grades and attendance when that information has been finalized and submitted by the instructor. We encourage all parents and students to log into PowerSchool regularly to review these items.

More information about PowerSchool and how to set up your account can be found on our website here. Please note that if you are already using PowerSchool at your student's associate district, you will need to create a new account for DACC using a different email address than the email address you are already using for your existing account.
