DACC Students and Parents/Guardians,
Thank you to everyone who participated in Thursday's Fall Festival! The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with peers outside of their lab programs and celebrate the hard work they’ve put in so far this year.
Each program found creative and engaging ways to showcase their skills or highlight the specialized equipment they use every day, making the day both fun and meaningful.

The Delaware Area Career Center is excited to host visits for area 10th-grade students during “Sophomore Visit Days.” This year, prospective students will be visiting the DACC campus on the following days:
Friday, November 21 Monday, November 24 Tuesday, November 25
Because all DACC staff will be involved in organizing, presenting, and creating engaging learning experiences for the visiting 10th graders, these days will not be “typical” school days for current students.
Current DACC students will be doing one of the following activities on each of these days:
- Attend school as a Student Assistant (only if requested by their instructor) - Job shadow a professional in their chosen field of study (required at least one of the day) - Complete a hybrid learning assignment - Continue on Work-Based Learning, if already approved and participating
Students may also elect to conduct college visits during this time
NOTE: Full-day students will also be given a hybrid assignment to be completed for each academic class for each of the 3 Sophomore Visit Days.
Not turning in required assignments or proof of job shadowing and/or college visit would mean that the day(s) of school missed will be counted as an unexcused absence(s).
Please look for your student to bring home Job Shadow Experience Forms in the coming days.
We are proud of our programs and believe that we offer unique and valuable educational options for area students. We appreciate your support for this important endeavor.

Help DACC Fight Hunger This Thanksgiving!
The Delaware Area Career Center is joining Delaware County United to Fight Against Hunger in their mission to provide 850 Thanksgiving meals to local families in need.
To help, DACC is collecting 7-ounce boxes of stuffing mix from Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 14. Our goal is to collect 1,500 boxes to include in Thanksgiving meal kits.
Students and families can drop off stuffing mix donations at the DACC. As an extra incentive, the lab (AM and PM combined) that collects the most boxes will win a Donut Party!
Together, we can make a difference and help ensure every family has a warm Thanksgiving meal this year.

On Hybrid Fridays, students will not attend their Academic classes in person. Instead, they will complete assignments online at their own pace. This model encourages students to take ownership of their learning in a flexible, real-world format. This innovative approach supports the development of essential 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, independence, and time management, while also opening the door for expanded work-based learning opportunities.
Here is a comprehensive FAQ about the program.

At DACC, we prioritize the well-being and academic success of our students. If a student feels unwell after they have already arrived on campus, we encourage them to visit the clinic, where our healthcare professional will provide care and support. In the event that a student needs to go home, we will personally contact a parent or guardian to arrange this. The student will then be able to leave directly from the clinic as soon as their ride arrives, streamlining the process for everyone.
We kindly ask that students refrain from directly contacting parents to pick them up during school hours. This approach ensures minimal disruption to classes and allows our teachers to maintain an effective learning environment. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this collaborative effort to support our students' health and education.

At DACC, we are using Canvas as our Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas is a web-based learning management system that gives instructors, students, and parents access to view and manage online course learning materials.
Additionally, the system empowers instructors, students, and parents to communicate about skill development and learning achievement.
Visit our website for more detailed information about Canvas, including:
|
We also use PowerSchool to display student grades and attendance.
While Canvas provides an interactive view of what is currently being assigned and submitted in a given class, PowerSchool publishes grades and attendance when that information has been finalized and submitted by the instructor. We encourage all parents and students to log into PowerSchool regularly to review these items.
More information about PowerSchool and how to set up your account can be found on our website here. Please note that if you are already using PowerSchool at your student's associate district, you will need to create a new account for DACC using a different email address than the email address you are already using for your existing account.
