Dear DACC Students and Families,
Our teachers held their annual Advisory Committee Meetings, and while holding a meeting may not sound exciting, these meetings have a powerful impact on our district. Business leaders from all over Central Ohio met to discuss how, together, we can provide the best possible experience to our DACC students. These professionals are invested in what a career tech education can provide to students and how our students will impact the future of their industries.
We value these business partnerships and appreciate our staff for the time they invest outside of the classroom to foster and maintain these professional relationships.
If you have any questions, please contact us at 740-548-0708.

DACC ASPIRE Program Receives Two Prestigious Chancellor’s Awards
DACC is proud to announce that its ASPIRE program has been recognized with two Chancellor’s Awards from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Gary Cates, Senior Vice Chancellor for the Ohio Board of Regents, visited DACC to present these distinguished honors: the Innovative Programming Award and the Exceeding Enrollment Targets Award.
As we are celeberating our 50th Anniversary this year, we are also celebrating how DACC has spent 50 years embracing innovation to prepare students for a rapidly changing world. We appreciate everyone who paved the way before us to grow and adapt. We're looking forward to many years ahead of continuing to evolve. View a full album of more memories and growth here.
DACC has an online school spirit store where you can purchase your favorite clothing items and accessories and have them delivered directly to your home. Most designs can be customized to include your lab name or our vision to empower, prepare, inspire, and connect all students.
If you've ever wanted to find out why your child enjoys coming to DACC every day, see for yourself what they experience and learn a little more about their career ambitions. In select programs, we are offering evening classes for adults, including:
Automotive Essentials - 10/15
Microsoft 365 Excel Basic - 11/7
Microsoft 365 Excel Intermediate - 12/03

For the most up-to-date course offerings, visit the Adult Education website.
DACC will host an ASVAB test on Tuesday, October 22, at 8 AM for interested students.
Students should take the ASVAB for one of the following reasons and must sign up:
1. Career Testing: The ASVAB is known as one of the best career tests available.
2. Military: This is a required test for the military. DACC does not give testing results to branches. You can choose to do that after you review your scores.
3. The Ohio Honors Diploma: The state of Ohio is allowing students who are missing one of the requirements to now substitute one of the options with a qualifying ASVAB score! (ie. Substituting the ACT score or GPA). Register with the Google Form.
(Note: DACC does not supply the military with scores of the exam)
When DACC is delayed or canceled due to weather, you will receive instant alerts through the contact information you provided at registration. Alerts will be sent to you by email, phone call, and text message. If you download the DACC app, you will also receive a push notification on your phone.
In addition, notices will be posted to our website and social media accounts.
When you receive the delay or closure alert, make sure you know what to do by referencing our Delay & Closures page on our website. Many parents bookmark this page for future reference.
We would like to remind you that fees for the 2024-2025 school year are now due. You can check your fee balances on PowerSchool. Additionally, charges have been applied to the accounts of students who have received a new Chromebook. For more information, visit the fees webpage or reach out to Lilian Robinson at 740-203-2230 if you have any questions.
Full-Day Students Only
During Academic Hybrid Fridays, all DACC academic students will be expected to complete online assignments in lieu of attending academic classes on Fridays. This academic model emphasizes 21st-century workplace skills, empowers students to utilize technology, improves independence, and provides more opportunities to participate in work-based learning.
At the Delaware Area Career Center, we prioritize the well-being and academic success of our students. If a student feels unwell after they have already arrived on campus, we encourage them to visit the clinic, where our healthcare professional will provide care and support. In the event that a student needs to go home, we will personally contact a parent or guardian to arrange this. The student will then be able to leave directly from the clinic as soon as their ride arrives, streamlining the process for everyone.
We kindly ask that students refrain from directly contacting parents to pick them up during school hours. This approach ensures minimal disruption to classes and allows our teachers to maintain an effective learning environment. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this collaborative effort to support our students' health and education.
Regardless of the first day of school in your home district, transportation will be running from the home schools to DACC beginning August 14th.
If you know in advance that your child will be absent or tardy, fill out the Absence Form found on our website or the homepage of the DACC app.
See our Attendance FAQ for more information as well as calendars to all of our home schools and contact information for home school transportation departments.
At DACC, we are using Canvas as our Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas is a web-based learning management system that gives instructors, students, and parents access to view and manage online course learning materials.
Additionally, the system empowers instructors, students, and parents to communicate about skill development and learning achievement.
Visit our website for more detailed information about Canvas, including:
How to set up an account
How students can set up a pairing code for a parent or guardian (get started with instructions on how to set up a pairing code here)
What you can and cannot do with Canvas
How to download the app
We also use Powerschool to display student grades and attendance.
While Canvas provides an interactive view of what is currently being assigned and submitted in a given class, PowerSchool publishes grades and attendance when that information has been finalized and submitted by the instructor. We encourage all parents and students to log into PowerSchool regularly to review these items.
More information about Powerschool and how to set up your account can be found on our website here. Please note that if you are already using PowerSchool at your student's associate district, you will need to create a new account for DACC using a different email address than the email address you are already using for your existing account.
