- If DACC closes but your home school remains open, report to your home school at the time you would normally be there. Do not report to DACC.
- If DACC is open but your home school closes, we assume that roads in your area are treacherous, and we want you to be safe. If you choose not to attend DACC that day, your absence will be excused with a parent note or phone call.
- In the event of a delay - either at your home school or at DACC - we encourage you to review this document as there are many possible scenarios to consider.
-
If we delay or close, we will make that decision as quickly as possible. Notices are sent by text, phone call, email, and push notification through the DACC app. In addition, we post the notice to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and our website. If all else fails, check 10TV for DACC's name on the list of closures.
-
Your home school will not make an announcement about DACC's status. If DACC is mentioned in their announcement, it is likely related to transportation, so listen to that portion carefully if you ride the bus.
The safety of our students and staff is the number one deciding factor in a delay or closure. We hope everyone has a safe and warm weekend. |

State Funded ACT Testing - Full-Day Juniors |
From March 10th - 12th, DACC will administer the State-Funded ACT to all FULL-DAY JUNIORS. Benefits of taking the ACT may include: |
- Increase in chances of admission to competitive colleges and universities
- Qualify for scholarships and financial aid
- Gauge academic progress and identify areas for improvement
Some reasons why students may not need/want to take the ACT include: |
- Preferring the SAT: Your student plans to take the SAT at their Home High School instead of the ACT.
- College or Career Path: Your student’s post-graduation plans do not require the ACT (e.g., trade school, workforce, or community college).
- Test-Optional Colleges: Your student is applying to colleges that do not require ACT scores for admission.

~ Not New But Worth Review ~ |
On Hybrid Fridays, students will not attend their Academic classes in person. Instead, they will complete assignments online at their own pace. This model encourages students to take ownership of their learning in a flexible, real-world format. This innovative approach supports the development of essential 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, independence, and time management, while also opening the door for expanded work-based learning opportunities.
Here is a comprehensive FAQ about the program. |
At DACC, we prioritize the well-being and academic success of our students. If a student feels unwell after they have already arrived on campus, we encourage them to visit the clinic, where our healthcare professional will provide care and support. In the event that a student needs to go home, we will personally contact a parent or guardian to arrange this. The student will then be able to leave directly from the clinic as soon as their ride arrives, streamlining the process for everyone. We kindly ask that students refrain from directly contacting parents to pick them up during school hours. This approach ensures minimal disruption to classes and allows our teachers to maintain an effective learning environment. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this collaborative effort to support our students' health and education. |

At DACC, we are using Canvas as our Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas is a web-based learning management system that gives instructors, students, and parents access to view and manage online course learning materials. Additionally, the system empowers instructors, students, and parents to communicate about skill development and learning achievement.
Visit our website for more detailed information about Canvas, including: |
We also use PowerSchool to display student grades and attendance.
While Canvas provides an interactive view of what is currently being assigned and submitted in a given class, PowerSchool publishes grades and attendance when that information has been finalized and submitted by the instructor. We encourage all parents and students to log into PowerSchool regularly to review these items.
More information about PowerSchool and how to set up your account can be found on our website here. Please note that if you are already using PowerSchool at your student's associate district, you will need to create a new account for DACC using a different email address than the email address you are already using for your existing account.
